I just drew a tag for archery elk in GMU 44, 444, and 45. Getting packed in by horse in Holy Cross Wilderness towards the end of September. Any advise for this area? Areas to stay away from? Is there a better direction to come in from? Is is smart to set up close to 44 and 444 so I can hunt those units as well?
