Anyone use Gotenna this season?

I was going to get a used Garmin Rhino to be able to locate and communicate with my Dad and brother when we're hunting together in the mountains (they both have older Rhino 530hcx gps radios). Since I use onX maps now for my gps, I thought this would be a better option.

I'm going to order a pair and try them out.

I've read lots of reviews. Some people had problems getting their phones to sync and others had problems at different ranges depending on terrain.

The newer "mesh" unit seems to be a step up in quality vs. the original one.

There is another company I found that makes military grade ones that go to 10 miles. Can't remember the name but will try to find it.

Sounds good. Let us know who it is.

FWIW, they have a newer version out called goTenna Mesh. It's replacing the original goTenna. It has 1 watt power vs 2 but can be linked together with others to expand the effective range.

An Inreach unit allows you to text your buddies, just everyone needs to have one but I recommend having one for safety anyway.
