I had a great Utah general muzzy hunt. Weather was cool with rain first couple nights. Spent good amount time hiking and glassing. Stalked this buck from over mile away with part of it on hands and knees. Made shot just before dark at around 70 yards. Will post a pic or two when I get home. At work now. Anyone else muzzy hunt in Utah.

trdhunter, we just got back from San Juan, Abajo Muzzleloader general hunt.
My wife had a tag, and she was able to kill a mature buck!
Way too many people! I don't think this new tag and pick your unit system is going to be any better for the deer.
Where'd ya hunt?

Here are a few pics of country I was hunting. Pardon the quality as batteries were dead when I got to camp in my good camera and also G.P.S. Took most of my pictures with small key-fob looking camera used on rc airplanes and helicopters. Only good thing is lightweight not packing larger camera.

Here are some more pics. Sneeke- I agree not so sure this smaller unit thing is going to help much. I usually do archery but decided to try it with a muzzy this year with so little time to scout being gone last year and a half and now baby.

trd- that's a great buck for that area and a general tag here in Utah! You did great! Were you close to Skyline trail? Scofield? My wife is from Huntington and works up in those mountains all summer for the Forest Service, so she was curious.
We did the Abajo Mtns down in San Juan- She was able to kill her first deer with her muzzleloader. There were way too many people and a lot of young deer.
Her cousin tagged out down there with us, too.
Her's- 24" 2x3 cousin's- 26" 3x3

Good bucks everyone. Trdhunter, I have had a lot of great hunts with ok bucks to show for it and I enjoyed everyone of them. I always want to shoot a bruiser but at the end of the day I just love to hunt and harvest mule deer.

Sneeke-I was about two miles off from north end of skyline drive and west of scofield. What does your wife do for forest service and does she see many good animals while working?

Ingodwetrust- I agree had a great hunt and only hunters I saw were when I was on the road on way in and out. There is always more hunts to come;)

Your definition of an OK buck and mine are lot different! Those look like GREAT bucks to me! Congrats on the hunt.

I'll go hunting with you and shoot you "OK'" bucks any day. :)
