Gross weight of elk meat?

I'm not sure about the gross weight. But completely boned out, I typically get 180-220 pounds of meat from a typical 4-6 point bull. That's the amount taken to the meat processor. I think I'm pretty efficient at deboning an elk, so I must have never shot anything close to 800 pounds on the hoof.

I usually get about 400 pounds of boned out meat on an average 600 pound elk, or at least that's how it feels on my back. Shockingly enough it is always around 200-225 at the butcher. Two guys one trip, usually about 100-120 each including whatever gear we have that day.
How does 400lb boned out = one trip for two guys @100-120lb???
