For my 2020 Dall hunt my outfitter said it would be best to leave the hard gun case in Fairbanks. For those who have done this do you take a gun slicker or sleeve to help protect the rifle for the follow on flights? I don’t plan on using anything on the rifle while hunting except tape covering muzzle and scope coat. Thanks

Just a gun sock. Pilots know what to do to protect it.

Nope, I take only the gun. If it's flying out in a super cub sized plane, it goes in a scabbard on the struts, otherwise packed in the tail of the plane on top of other gear.

Listen to the advice and leave the hard case in Fairbanks. Trust me here, I hunted your hunt in Aug, no way could we have played tetris as well as we did and got out in one trip with a hard case.

I flew my rifle in with a soft case from Midway USA and didn't worry about it one bit.
