No - Garmin is the only brand of handheld GPS to buy. They accept majority of the chips out there.

Sure you can get another brand and then your onx chip won't go.

Do you really have to ask me how I know...?

I just have an in reach, I probably should have gotten that 66i but I do t really need the hunting software since I live in AK.

I have a Garmin Oregon 400 that I haven't used in a couple years. I'd let it go cheap if you just want to try one out.
