My brain won't stop thinking about what could be achieved by cutting down a 300wm case to 308 spec??
Has it been done before? I know the win mag gates hate for the rim but imo this has to be done or attempted. What are your thoughts?

From what I can see it would be very close to a 284win but not as long. I'm going to play around and see if I can figure out a case capacity for it at 2.025

350 rem mag....just needed a bit more research and it's 100% not worth the effort imo.

There are a number of fatter short action cases available that dont have a belt and you'd actually be using brass intended to be a case neck rather than making a neck out of case body. 6.5 PRC, SAUM, 284 win, and 6.8 western come to mind. 6.8 western would be the best candidate if you wanted to seat bullets ideally in a short action IMO.

The 350 remington is a 300wm case shortened to 2.170 with a coal 2.8. Folks have used these to make 6.5.
