Hauling an ATV (non trailer or in truck bed)

That thing needs more than just the 2-inch tube down the middle.

Put the atv in truck and the luggage on the platform!

A small trailer would be better for me.
Want to keep it out of the back of the truck because of camper shell

I cannot see how that thing would provide any benefit over a trailer.
not sure it will. Just seems like it might be better on long trips (maybe help with mpg?) than hauling a trailer 12-14 hours

I have a 5x8 "utility" trailer. That is built well and has a good axle and bigger actual quality wheels and tires on it. I get the same mileage essentially with it as I do if I throw the 4wheeler in the bed of the truck. Don't even notice it is there. It essential is this trailer in the picture just and older non galvanized steel model.1750196937776.png

If you’re taking a single axle trailer with a single quad, I don’t see that decreasing your MPG by any drastic amount. That entire setup would weigh about as much as my boat and my MPG is the same pulling it vs not.

Just the empty rack weighs close to 300 lbs plus a 750 lb quad on there and now you've very rapidly narrowed your vehicle selection to something that can handle 1100 lbs of tongue weight.

I like the empty truck bed in all the pictures. Is he afraid to scratch the bed lol? I bet the inventor is one of those guys who buys a truck to haul groceries.

In all seriousness, it looks like a terrible idea.
-It would overload most factory hitch receivers.
-I don’t think it would handle well on the interstate
-It could easily bottom out offroad

They make decks for the bedrails that will haul an atv, Diamondback and Renegade.
Some of the snow machine decks may work too.

If I were asked to advocate for the use of this in return for large sums of money, I could not ethically do so. This is a terrible idea. Get a trailer.

That would certainly make it handle like crap. It would cause it to be too light on the front end. And like others said; relying on one 2”x 3/16” tube to handle a 7-800lb cantilevered load isn’t too bright. Looks like a very stupid, not very thought out design.
You could use it for your Hoveround tho.

I'm not sure I would try that one. That ATV is a lot heavier than a mobility scooter (even those nice big things). Nah, not for me, I'll use a small trailer.
