Heading to CO for my first archery Mulie hunt, think ill drive out Friday and park at the trail head and sleep and hike in the next morning/first days of season, do most of you get out the day before season? I have 2 travel days and 5 hunting days. 12 hour drive to a place I've never been before but im stoked!

You'll have a blast. I never had as much fun hunting as the first year I went after mule deer spot and stalk with my bow. I never got one but it was sure fun attempting and blowing all those stalks. I even had a few arrows released just off the mark !!

If I only had 5 hunting days, I'd try to do my hiking in the dark even if it is early morning, so I could be glassing at daylight and not hiking up the mountain. However, hiking a new spot in the dark for the first time sucks. Best case scenario is getting to the trailhead the afternoon before and hiking in to glass that evening if you are packing in anyway.
