While true, the impact of the ACA cannot be ignored. The impact has been significant and not all good for productive members of our society.
Our premiums went up 40% due to the ACA, deductible went up by 50%, ER visit costs tripled, and overall less coverage for more money.
I don’t mean to defend the ACA, just that without the ACA, the major problem would still exist. The link shows that trend. So while we blame our woes on the ACA, the problem will continue to grow without being properly diagnosed.

In my opinion, there are just too many hands in the pot looking to profit from sickness, often price gouging too. Consider how little of our money actually reaches the true providers and it’s sickening in itself. Many of those hands would love for us to look to the ACA as the problem.

I am not saying that I have the solution, just pointing to some data that shows the real problem is much more systemic than the ACA.

Im self employed. I have been all my life so this i have a individual plan. 4 people cost me 1800 a month through blue cross blue shield
Dental health and eye. We choose lowest detectable because my daughter has to see a specialist and typically surgery for club feet each year and lots and lots of PT.
I have back problems and pain blocks tend to help so i get those a few times a year.
If we didnt have that we would get a different plan that was $1100.00 a month

Yup, most people could only dream of the "high deductible plan" I had pre-ACA. Family of 4 at the time $700/month. $3,000 deductible. No co-pays or any confusing garbage. Just stick $3000 in an HSA for the year and you were set.

Now for a family of 6 its around $2,000/ month. I don't know the exact out of pocket, but when we had a baby last fall we were up to $11,800 out of pocket and were still paying co-pays...

Self employed, wife and I both. Got priced out of our health care when I was in Illinois, more than tripled in price in a few years after the unaffordable health care act passed. The gov. does not like successful self employed folks much!

Have always been healthy and only had insurance for about 5 years of my 50 on this earth, maybe foolish but I am likely money ahead at this point!

Been looking into the Christian health care but am not currently active at a church. A friend of mine has been using it for years and likes it a lot!

My ins is included in my salary but I know my company pays $1,900/mo for my relatively health family of 5.

$0 deductible
$10-25 copays

It’s Highmark BCBS High Option 1

It’s really awesome coverage and I’m pretty lucky to have it.

Colorado, Blue Cross Blue Shield. 2 adults age 55, paying $1,000 a month. Deductible is over $7,000 each. That is significantly lower than it has been. Its our largest expense outside of Federal Income taxes.

Check with BCBS. They pay on time and I do have access to healthcare with them. Price is what the price is these days. We have a bad system with way too much spent on administration both in government and at providers.
