Hey y’all,

I’m looking for a 30”+ carbon barrel and so far HCA has been the only provider. Does anyone have experience they wouldn’t mind sharing with their performance or know of any other barrels makers that they would recommend. I’m a proof fan but they stop at 28” for 7mm.

Thanks,
Cody

I had mike spin me up one of his summit contour barrels, so I cant speak to one of his longer barrels. What I can say is mike is top notch. He provides a quality product and is incredibly easy to work with. Its always nice to find a company that you really feel cares. I have been very happy with the work hes done on the barrel, install and cerakote.

Really like my 6.5 saum he built using his barrel, shoots factory ammo sub moa haven't began handloading yet. He's also going to build me a 300wsm using the light 23" summit barrel over the winter.

Has anyone laid a sendero HCA down beside a light sendero Proof barrel? I was under the impression HCA barrels were true to a Remington sendero size while proof barrels always run big. A proof sendero is quite a bit heavier profile than a true one. I would think a “proof light” would be almost identical to a HCA sendero.

This is one reason why I didn’t name my barrel contours traditionally. Every barrel maker has their own version of a “sendero” contour.
With that said, my heavy hunter profile is .850-.860” at the muzzle depending on finish length and can be had with a 1.170, 1.200, and 1.250” tennon OD.

Also we use benchmark liners exclusively (apart from the 45 cal muzzy blanks). Now available in cut rifled blanks for 6.5mm/7mm/30 cal. Double heat stress relieved, cryogenically treated and they shoot phenomenally. There are a lot of quality barrel companies out there, and I could easily knock off 30% of our cost per blank by going with another company, but I won’t sacrifice quality for a better margin.

Mike, are your barrels stainless liners?

I've got two HCA barrels and they both shoot lights out. That said, I've known Mike for going on 10 years now and feel privileged to call him a close friend.

Did you ever find a 30"+ carbon barrel?
I went with a 30” c6 bull barrel. Ended up being way heavier than their calculator suggested, but shoots phenomenally.

Nice rifle!!
Pretty sure I’m going to order a C6 30” magnum.
Wanting a 300 Terminator but may go with 300 RUM +P for the action and bolt possibilities when I shoot the barrel out. I may want a smaller magnum or could go 338 edge. Not sure I want to build on a lapua action.

Thank you! You may want to look into 300 Norma. Nearly the same performance of what the RUM gets with shorter COAL. Can do lapua head and get it in a long action cut for a wyatts box or 3.85” dbm or even mdt 4” Mag. Not sure of your application though.

Mike built me a custom 300win with a 24” heavy hunter barrel. The thing shoots way better than me. Have a good load with 181 hammer hunters and after some wind doping at 500 yards, hit 1/2 moa at 930 yards. Plus the barrel just looks sweet...
I know where I will be going for my next barrel and/or rifle.

If I can run a 300 RUM +P at 3200 with an accuracy load and not kill brass then I would get it vs the 300 Terminator.

OAL is not a concern. I will single feed if needed.

I want the 300 Terminator but the RUM is more appealing as far as no fireforming, custom dies, standard mag bolt, ect

I have N570 on hand so needs to be built with n570 as the preferred powder choice.
