300 WM in a factory wood stock weighing 9lbs 6 oz ready to go unloaded.

I am going to change the stock to get rid of the wood but the current stock in 2 lbs 6 oz so looks like a stock change is only gonna save me about 3 oz. I am also gonna go with the Leupold VX3i, at 13 oz this is going to save me 11 oz over my current scope. Finally I’m gonna add a brake at 4 oz. So with all this it looks like I can cut about 10 oz for a total weight of 8 lbs 12 oz. But, I would sure like to lose a few more ounces. Any other economical recommendations to cut some more weight?

What stock are you looking at? Likely other options that are lighter. What scope rings/mounts are you using? Talleys might save you a tiny bit

The weight I figured above is for the B&C. I could go to the McMillan hunter, at 26 oz, and save another 9-10 oz’s and that may be the route I go but that is a several hundred dollar upgrade that I would avoid if I can.
