Fairly big spring snow storm coming this week across the West. Moisture surely welcome as long as it's not a killer storm.

So what’s the verdict? looks like NODAK will have plenty of water for the ducks.
Did Montana and Wyoming get any drought relief?

It's not looking good for most of Montana based on the snow pack. We are ok up here in NW MT but the rest of the state is way below average.

Yes on some Montana drought releif, thank God. Every system that comes through provides some moisture and below avg. temp days keeps what snow is left in the mountains longer. One hot week and most of it can disappear.

Here's a link to general averages that can change quite a bit with each systems that comes through. Doesn't show Eastern MT, just mountain snowpack.

Snowpack isn't looking that bad. If you look at the individual monitoring stations, there are a scattered few that have less than 20%, but there are more that have over 100%.

Also, snowpack isn't everything. A significant part of moisture (and what will drive populations and antler/horn growth) will come from the spring and summer rains. NOAA predicts worsening drought this summer, then again the La Nina predicted in MT never really materialized either. It's all wait and hope.

Praying for some drought relief for y’all. Looks like NE Montana is getting hit pretty good today.
