Hero5 vs Hero8 for digiscoping

I will be buying a GoPro with a Phone Skope setup here within a few weeks. I’m curious as to people’s take on the hero5 black vs. the hero8 black. For reference I’ll be shooting through a swaro ATS so I don’t want to sacrifice picture/video quality with a bad camera, but the hero8 is 2-3 times the price of the hero5. Any experience on if the hero8 is worth it would be appreciated!
