Just as the title says...what’s the highest elevation you’ve killed elk at? My plan A this year assuming the elk are in the same generally area/elevation I’ll be hunting them at is right around that 11700-12000ft. Wonder sometimes how much I pass heading up that high, but I like the idea of glassing them up and spot n stalk.

About 11,400’
Watched him come off a 12,200 ridge before I caught up to the small herd.
I know I pass a lot of elk on the way up to this spot, but that’s ok, I like hunting up high.

About 300' until a few years ago haha.
12k ft is impressive, living at 10ft I would be sucking air for sure

Shot my first bull at 12,300 back in 1991...my lungs do not handle that elevation as well as they did back then ;)

12,024' in Unit 76 Co archery season....2010 I think.

We were camped at 10,750' just below the continental divide.

One would think there isn't much difference between 10,700 and 12,000.....there is.

9150 in Montana in November. It seems where I hunt that time of year they are at 5,000 on crops or above 9k. Rarely in between
