Hello,

Has anybody used both of these boots? I have Birksdall SFs but they are on their way out so I'm interested in the Hoffman Explorers, how stiff are the Explorers compared to a birksdall SF

Any other insight is greatly appreciated.

thank you!!!

I have the hoffmans but not the crispis. The hoffmans are stiffer than my meindls and danner elkhorns but still have some flex to them. I haven't packed any real weight with them but i have covered alot of miles with no issues.

I have the regular Birksdall (not SF) and the Hoffman Explorers. They are similar IMO. Explorers are plenty stiff for anything That you don’t need “plastics” for IMO.

I’ve used the explorers as a wild land fire boot In CO, ID and CA. They are great boots ( prefer nicks hotshots) and would and have elk and mild deer hunted with them but wouldn’t take them hunting here in AK. After my delta sheep hunt with my briksdales sf I’m sold.
