Thought I'd share something working really well for me. I'm running carbon shaft arrows on my widow with 175 grn points. Many Easton aluminum arrows fit precisely over carbon shafts and make excellent impact collars or footers. These are 1.75" long from Easton 2114's and glued on with Insert Iron and really toughened up the arrows at their weakest spot as proven by my stone & gravel ridden misses.

I think I used 2114s as well, but a little shorter than that. I used the HIT epoxy on mine. I center punched a big flat rock last year I didn't see... they aren't magical lol. I put a BAR ring on the end of the shaft, then slid the footer up to it and glued it. Black Eagle Rampage 350s with 200gr points and 75 gr HIT insert

Here is a chart of aluminum shafts and their inner and outer diameters. You can use this as a guide for making your own collars and footers. I think I got this from Tradgang.
