Hot spots

So I have a pair of scarpa zg lite. I wore them all spring scouting. Gave me a blister on the first trip out on each heel the first day I wore them for 7 miles. Any thing under 4 miles no hot spot. After 4 miles I feel like I’m trying to get a hot spot. I lace them tight close to uncomfortable when I leave the truck. I wear heavy merino socks. I love the boots they check all the boxes. Just wondering about my little hot spot issue.

Throw a piece of duck tape on your foot where you get the blister until you get them broken in.
