I’m looking to get a Ti stove for my Cimarron to use during 4th rifle season. For those of you who have a cylinder stove ( lite outdoors style), are you able to melt snow for water, or would it be better to get a flat top stove to put a pot on top to boil? In other words, if I get a cylinder stove, am I limiting myself when it comes to water.

I had the lite outdoors stove and while you could put a pot on the two rods on top it does not perform as well as the large box stove from seek for cooking on and boiling water. It also was not as stable balancing on top.

Ok thanks- that’s helpful info for what I was seeing. I thought balancing on rods might work, but wasn’t sure. But you’re saying there’s a chance….😀

Yeah you definitely can but you won’t boil as fast and a lot easier to knock over.

You can do it and have done it several times just have to be aware it is not a box stove 🤙 just have to be more careful to not bump it🤣💯box just makes it easier if real cooking versus simple warm ups

Excellent. I think it will do the trick for me. Looks like you’ve stretched it pretty well to do double duty. Thanks for the insight guys.
