This year, most of my hunting was done out of my commuter. There were some spots that I couldn't get to because of it, but it just led to a longer hike. I got the truck up and running towards the end of the season, and it should be up for bird now, pig soon, and deer next year.

No matter what you can afford, make sure its well maintained. Add decent or aggressive tires, some body armor - rocker protection/bumpers, and a winch. Thats my basic hunting rig recipe.

2017 ZR2 Diesel | Extended Cab | 6'2" Bed

Purposefully bought a 2 door so everyone that knows me would stop asking to come hunting with me -- no one wants to ride in the back seats and knee themselves in the chin. My pack gets shotgun priority, everyone else's stuff can ride in the bed!

DiamondBack cover on it so the locals in my GMU stop throwing trash in my truck and ******* with my stuff. Marathon Seat Covers w/2 Gun Holders sewn into the back.

Likely gonna convert it to a UTE Tray Bed soon, throw a steel bumper + winch on the front. That way I can be like all the cool hardcore backcountry bro's in WA and illegally drive my rig across state land taking Instagram pics.

2014 Ford Ranger. I believe you guys know them as a T6.
Enclosed dust proof aluminium canopy, setup with battery and solar. Can go for ten days off grid with no problem. Have a 16 gallon water tank underneath the chassis for showering and washing up.
This is a fairly common style setup for hunters in AustraliaIMG_20210225_205907_853.jpgIMG_20210109_183649.jpg

I drive my bone stock 2017 Siverado 1500 to camp. Its got some kind of Z71 off road package with shocks with more travel. I bought a roll up tonau cover for the bed and some seat covers. Thats it. I drive it to camp and then jump on my ATV to drive back in the woods. Not even a sticker of anykind on it. Its basically a cooler and gear hauler.
