How much trouble getting this to feed?

I bought a 26 Nosler that I have lost complete interest in before it ever arrived.

So, short of bailing on the entire setup, I got to looking for potential rebarrel candidates.

How hard would the 7 PRC be to get to feed from a 26 Nosler magazine setup?

At least plenty would give me plenty of room to seat bullets.3EFFE289-9B47-44B1-8230-B665E4F7EC2D.jpegA20A4525-6336-43AD-9D66-DAF54C54713A.jpeg0D6073BF-452D-456B-B0B7-57272B1E96BB.jpeg

They both should be a magnum bolt face (.550), so that shouldn't be an issue, but what is the action and magazine type?

You should be fine. The bolt gace is the same and your action is more than long enough. You mag should be fine as well. You will have plenty of room.

It's a Browning X-Bolt 26 Nosler Western Hunter that I purchased out of the classifieds on a whim, lost interest before it ever arrived.

I think it will work just fine. If for some reason you have trouble with the feeding Wyatts had a small inexpensive book you can purchase on magazine tunning.

I think the 7 PRC sounds like a fun project on that platform. 26 Nosler is an interesting one, but I'm not keen on it either. 28 Nosler would probably be an easy swap too if you wanted all the horsepower a man could need. 😁

Browning chambered the 300 PRC in the X-Bolt, so that should help if there are any magazine issues
I think you will be just fine in that regard. The only thing I would be concerned with at this time would be component availability with the new 7, particularly the brass.
Wrench is correct, you don't want to mess with your feed lips if at all possible. However if your newly chambered rifle will not feed properly it has to be done by you or a gun smith. Just my 2 cents anyway.

I called Kevin Weaver to see if he wants to tackle this project. I have an 8 twist #4 Brux that is fluted and will finish at 26". I also ordered 2 300 PRC magazines from Midwest.

Now to list the dies and components for the 26 Nosler

Talked to Kevin, he's ready to tackle the project. I received the 300 PRC magazines and now I am curious which one would work best, with either there is plenty of room for whatever bullet I choose.

26 Nosler magazine on top, 300 PRC magazine on the bottom in the first picture, definite difference in followers and feed lip geometry. The feed lips are considerably thicker than the Nosler. If it comes down to it, it appears that the guts could be swapped out if there was a feed issue.

2nd picture has the 26 Nosler magazine on bottom.

3rd has the 300 PRC magazine on bottom.

Now to get this wrapped up and get everything on the way to Kevin.

I will be ordering a McMillan Game Warden 2.0 as soon as the X-Bolt long action inlet is made available. I am using a stainless 8 twist Brux #4 twist fluted barrel that hopefully will be finished at 26" with a recessed crown, no threads.

It will have to ride in the factory composite stock until McMillan makes the inlet available.
