How to volunteer in Alaska hunting org?

Thinking about volunteering for one of the hunting orgs up here in AK.

Just trying to find a way to meet like minded people who love to hunt and volunteer my time in some small way to one of these orgs. Would like to stay out of the Guide vs. resident hunter fight as much as possible. How would I go about this/who would I contact if anyone knows?

Yea. I know a handful of groups like wild sheep, RMEF, etc. have chapters up here. Just thought there might be an easier way than cold calling/emailing.

Cold call. Find out when they have a meeting or fundraiser and go and introduce yourself. The sportsman’s outdoor show in Palmer is coming up in a few weeks.

Contact the organization. Don't be shy. It's not hard.

It's probably like volunteering for greenpeace....where you volunteer by giving them money.

If you are interested in volunteering some time to the Alaskan Bowhunters Association, I could certainly look into making that happen...

Other options are RHAK, Outdoor Heritage Council, and SCI. I know folks on each of those boards that would be able to help you out as well.
