In Idaho you can take the online course at 9 years old I believe. Do the course with him.

Re-do the parenting plan. Take two Mondays and/or Fridays a month off work attached to your weekends with him or make them short work days so you are only working while he is at school. Drive him to school and pick him up.

This doesn't affect the continuity for him, and if mom trys to demand that he be with her when she is not home/working, then her motives for control and not doing what is best for the child become clear to the court.

Make sure you get homework done during your time with him before going to have fun and make any dealings with the ex like an unemotional business deal (only text and email so everything is in writing).
