Hunting shape

From what I have experienced the best way to get into hunting shape is unfortunately just to bight the bullet and go hunting. I’m curious if you have certain cardio or weightlifting exercises that seem to be extremely beneficial.

The non-answer is to do whatever you can to be the best shape that you have time for

Personally a nice mix of cardio and weight lifting. Trail "running" and rowing are my primary cardio. My weight routine is designed around an "all muscle group" routine designed by a guy named Jeremy Either where I'm doing legs, arms, chest, back, etc on every workout. I do different lifts on alternating days. I don't go to wild with the weights and focus on clean form and reps. Admittedly I'm still a fat bastard but move as well as most in the hills
