I’ll try to male this concise. Husband got drawn for bull here in Nevada for Jarbidge Wilderness area - our favorite! He’s got antlerless in past, but this was his 1st ever bull tag. Needless to say he was excited! Set up camp at 9000’ but road to trailhead was gnarly. First day out, snowed like crazy, visibility was nil, so pulled up camp and amscrayed out as road was a white knuckler.

Set up camp several miles north and at lower elevation. Wet, soggy, muddy but tons of elk sign. On day 6 spotted 2 bulls and a cow. Day 7 friends who went with him had to get back home. Husband didn’t want to hunt alone so pulled camp and came home.

Yours truly was NOT happy with this decision.

Husband asks neighbor guy if he’d go with for last 2 days on tag. Weather had improved, snow level higher, dried a bit, so they set up camp at first mentioned locale, 9000’. Nothing first day. On last day of tag, Friday, 4 miles in, around 3-4 p.m. (according to time on text) husband got this guy. Husband texted pic. They finished packing out all meat yesterday and should be home today.

Husband is not in doghouse anymore!EB4BF92C-4CCD-4FBB-BD37-D436F86D24BB.jpeg
