Idaho Sheep

Guys, I'm looking at applying for one of the sheep hunts along the Salmon River in central Idaho. Do you know if the rams tend to hang out in the steep canyons along the river, or are they found deeper into the wilderness areas off the river. In the slim chance that I do draw a tag I would love to do-it-myself, but I want to see if it's even feasible.
