Beauty of an 8 pointer... 135", give or take 2". Great buck, symetrical, good mass, nice spread... Hard for an 8 to get up there in score, but this one is perfect!

Thanks guys!! I'm not a big score guy and was just practicing posting pics. It's always good to have an idea or reference to go buy.

Mass is a little light to score more that 135. Has good hight on the 2's and 3's.

Light in mass but looks very symmetrical. I think he would make the 135" mark because he won't loose much to deductions.

A good quick way to score in the field is if you are looking at older deer(3 1/2) is to take a average for width, mass, beam length and browtines of 100".then when you look at the deer just estimate the length of the tines and add that onto 100. It is usually pretty close here in Illinois. This deer seems to be 2 1/2 or maybe 3 1/2 his left side looks like tines of 8" 7" and his right looks a little shorter 7" 6". 15+13+100= 128" if he is a 2 1/2. Add 15+13+90=118. Wide 8pts are all little deceiving I would say he is closer to the 118" score

I agree. I have a lot of 8 pt racks that looked like 130's at 30 yards and ended up in the 115-124 range.
This guy from '08 didn't make 125 and I had him on the trail cam and looked him over but good before I shot him. 8 poitnters just have a hard time scoring.

When field judging if you can only see one antler(side view) just double the antler tines sticking up and then add 100"
