Maybe this is just a t.v thing but I see alot of shows where guys mention " this area was absolutely pounded by ehd this season" yet no one will turn back a tag and end up kicking it in a treestand for weeks to shoot whatever comes across.

Are the areas so populated that the hunters dont mind the ehd, or are they concerned about the deer populations never returning to their original state? Or is it not as big of a deal as I read and see elsewhere?

Im completely ignorant on whitetail and dont mean this to be a rant. Just curious of what the whitetail hunters feel about it.

Turning the tag in is going to depend on the state. A lot of midwest/east states the tag is good statewide like here in MO, so no reason to turn it in just hunt somewhere else. But it could be that even though the area was hit by ehd there still could be a nice one on the cams or something so why not stick around. As far as population it just depends on the area, here in MO that last survey was just under 1.4 million whitetails but some areas of the central/northern part of the state were hit by ehd so people aren't seeing as many as they previously had.
