I'm gonna make this short and sweet. I tried the IA Integrous frame and packs last year and I love everything about them, except I have a 21" torso and with heavy loads I like to have a taller frame. I'm not suggesting that the frame isn't comfortable by any means, I am just a tinkerer at heart and I had an idea. The frame itself was not modified in any way, I just made some extensions that add about 2" to the overall frame height when engaged (27.5" vs 25.5"). I made them reversable so I can leave them in the down position most of the time and then throw them up when I have a heavier load.

Each extension uses two 5mm fiberglass rods to extend the vertical rigidity. They are not the most visually appealing but I was in a rush and wanted to finish the project to test my hypothesis. I will most likely make a version 1.1 if I get some time.

Here are some pics of them engaged and then in the down position. The last pic shows all the hardware except the field repair ladderloc that engages the load lifter straps depending on the orientation at that moment.
