Stickbows are fun to shoot. After shooting compounds for 3 decades....stickbows have brought back the 'Fun' in archery for me. I've even killed some animals with it.
You are severely limiting yourself with a stick bow over a compound...and that part can be frustrating. My last hunt was a good example. I had a couple really good wild hogs at 40-50 yds....thats out of range for my stick bow but in the 'He's dead' range with my compound.
Now I did stalk in and shoot a 60#er at 12 yds with the stick....so not all was lost.
Its a total attitude adjustment...you have to plan/work for very close shots compared to other weapon choices. You won't kill as much game...and you have to accept that.
