This is a very frustrating situation. There are numerous better options than the WGF just exterminating them .

They could...

open more tags in this area which *could* help more high point holders draw out and help those with lower point totals eventually draw a tag.

Collect the income from these tags to help the sheep populations.

Relocate some billies, nannies and kids to areas that are struggling with their populations

What is more than likely to happen...

They will hire sharpshooters and relocate a small amount of animals

What gets me is that the anti's won't even flinch at the government hiring sharpshooters to basically slaughter them but when someone wants to hunt them then the world is ending...

There are no points for Wyoming mountain goats...its a complete random draw every year. . Wyoming game and fish has no decision on what the Park will allow within their borders. It would take an actual act of congress to "legalize" hunting of the goats. Just like the elk and bison "reduction" programs that occur within GTNP boundaries. IF it was up to Wyoming game and fish, there would be no question about it being a hunt. But this problem is entirely related to the government and their BS.

There is no bison "reduction" or management program within Grand Teton National Park, only elk may be hunted within park boundaries.
