As others have stated, reloading for pistol is very time consuming because you tend to shoot a lot in a short amount of time. A progressive press is a must and even then it may still be hard to find a few hours to bang out 500 or more rounds. Sometimes the press gets a little jimmied up and you gott'a fix it. It's definitely easier to hand someone your card and walk out with a box of ammo. The up side of reloading is that there will always be a time when you have a few extra hours, it's quiet time in the garage, it's a hobby, you'll always have ammo if the over-the-shelf stuff is unavailable and you can load for your rifle.

Reloading for rifle is always worth it.

Do it because you enjoy it and want more precision out of your rifles than factory ammo can offer. Reloading won't save money. You'll just shoot more and keep buying more reloading equipment.
