I would like to clarify this didn't happen on Rokslide.

Recently I received an email stating that I received a payment via PayPal for X amount of dollars. It then states that I must respond to the email with tracking for the funds to show in my account. I sell alot through PayPal, and I have never seen this before.

My PayPal account shows no activity from said person. Nor is it showing any type of pending funds. Also, normally after receiving a payment from PayPal it comes through as sent by "Service@PayPal", and this email came through as "Notification of PayPal Payment", which is the first time I've ever seen that.

I've sent PayPal an email, and plan to call them once I can, but I was curious if any of you experienced this before?

Thanks

Im nearly certain that it's a scam. I received a similar email a few months ago, ignored it, and never saw any funds pop up in my account.

They want you to click there link, to a page that looks just like PayPal.
Once you try and login they will have your login and password.

I've been getting emails for a year saying I need to verify or my account wbe locked but it works just fine.

Total scam. I've received many. Another scam lately is emails supposedly from legit vendors that are marketing through Fackbook. If you drill into the details of where it's actually coming from it's not Fackbook but a scammer. Scammers abound everywhere, everything is suspect.

One of the first things I noticed about this email was that none of the links worked. It didn't even give you an option to click on them. But the layout of the email is exactly as you'd receive from PayPal. I had never seen anything like it. Hate a damn thief.

The most recent scam I am seeing is that I keep getting emails saying that my Norton anti-virus protection has expired and will be automatically renewed on such and such date. My payment of x amount (typically $350-450) will be billed to my credit card. If there are any issues with this I need to call them at xxx phone number. I have received more than 50 of these emails from different email addresses over the past few months - none of which are from a company email address. I'm guessing they want you to call them and then they will try to get your information somehow. I don't have a Norton subscription on any device and nothing has ever been billed to my credit card. Just wanted to share for others who may get this email...

Definitely a scam. I’m getting sick and tired of all these low life scammers and not just on these forums.
Got a call yesterday that my Electricity was going to be turned off in 30 minutes if I didn’t pay my overdue bill. Funny thing is my bill is auto paid each month. So I tell the person it’s auto paid and they say no it’s not and they want to transfer me to a specialist. So just for the fun of it I say ok. The specialist says the auto payments have been getting rejected which of course they haven’t but if I give them my card info they can fix it right now and not turn off my power. I told them nope this is a scam and get a life and they hung up and my power is still on!

Man, I tell ya I am too. I'm a bit more sideways over this than maybe I should be.

This was actually happening to my mother. My dad passed away from cancer almost a year ago. My parents are both extremely hard workers, but they've never had nothing. Their retirement savings was very small. I pay all her bills, but she's never been good with money, and spent more than she should have over the holidays. She was selling some small things they had to try to recoup some.spending money, and this was the first person she came upon. These scumbags dont.care who they are stealing from. The poor old lady has nothing, and was about to have even less. There is no telling how far I'd go if someone took advantage of my mom.

I'd assume the shipping address they gave her would be bogus, but it couldn't be completely because they would have scammed her for the product, because she was selling, not buying. So they would have needed to receive the shipment if they planned to sell for money. Even if they were porch pirates that would mean they'd have to be watching the house all day to intercept package. If nothing else, it'd be a good starting point. Probably a futile effort, but Imma just so happen to be close to Minnesota in about a month....

Never click any links unless its something you initiated yourself such as a password reset.

All these apps have there own area for messages.
Back out of any email and log directly into the app/website in question.
If there is actually a problem there will be a message/alert inside there.
