I've had 2 front shoulders in the crock pot for 9 hrs.
After marinating for 3 days.
It hasnt given up yet. Decent sized Boar my son shot.
Planning on making Fajitas.
Will it ever get tender?

I just put them in the pressure cooker!!!! That'll fix em.

Pressure cooker did them up right!!
Surprisingly tastes very much like Beef.
In all honesty, I've had worse tasting whitetails.
Very good in Fajitas with black beans, fresh grilled corn
sour cream, cilantro , crushed red pepper, Sriracha.
I dont know why they get a bad rap?

Wife put the leftover bits and bones in a
big pot of white beans she made today.
With cornbread and sliced onions.
Good stuff.

I think javelina gets a bad rap based on toughness, not flavor. That assumes you take care of your meat properly in the field. I used to beat the living snot out of my javalina steaks with a meat tenderizer until they were paper thin and then chicken fry them. I took the advice of my preschooler over anyone else because he did not already have a preconceived notion about javalina meat. He told me to go shoot another one.

The worst part is there’s so little meat! Shot my first one this year and was able to put it deboned in a large ziplock. Just didn’t feel right

I throw the whole leg in the pellet grill then peel the meat off and put it in the pressure cooker. Add bbq sauce and make bbq sandwiches out of it. It’s great!

I haven't harvested one, yet. So take this with a grain of salt..

They say they taste amazing as chorizo, or even red spiced tamales.
