Climbed the hill behind town and found 3 groups of cows. Total of 89 elk, one little bull in the mix and 2 newborns. Had to look up when the calving season typically is and it should get more active any day now. Long winter with lots of snow may have pushed things backs little.

I'm back to work this afternoon. A 4 a.m. start and having elk 8 miles as the crow flies from town enables me to sneak a little bit of living into daily life.

Great pics!

Saw maybe 70-80 in small groups flying over last week. Saw a few today. Saw mama black bear and cub today.
