June Montana bears

What’s up guys,
So typically our trip to Montana is in May each year. Except this year due to coronavirus. Anyway, we are here now hunting a few spots we have had previous luck at. We have not seen a single bear! In 3 days of hunting, typically we have been fortunate enough to see plenty in our previous trips. Anything I don’t know about trying to hunt a bear in June? Seems something is off.. like they have moved to a different elevation this time of year? Hope everyone else is having a good season!

Bear hunting later in the season can be difficult! Everything greens up so the bears start moving way more than they do earlier in the spring. It looks like the stuff that you are hunting is pretty heavily timbered. We have been hunting steep rocky open faces over the past two weeks and have found tons of bears. You might want to try glassing some more steep, open canyons. Here is a screenshot of a bear we found on Saturday to give you an idea of the areas they are in this time of year!
