K3 vs K4 Hip Belt

I know they say it is not compatible. I get that, so no need to address that. But for those of you that have an EXO K3 and K4 couldn’t the two lower sections of the K3 frame fit into the slots of the K4 hip belt to swap out that entire lower and make a hybrid? I ask because I have 2 k3s (one for sale if you’re interested!!) and I’m not looking to upgrade to a k4 cause I’m happy with the k3. But with all the hype of the belt, if I could try it for $70 instead of $700 I’d be more than happy to pay that to give it a go. I know you’d still need the lumbar foam and shell for the k4. But just curious if someone has both on hand, why you can’t just undo the frame panel Velcro flap, slide the whole lower section off the frame stays and then slide on the k4 lower?

I do not have a K3 any longer, so cannot try. However, the K4 frame slots in the belt are shaped for a rectangular frame stay and I think the round stay of the K3 would not fit.
