Kids first hunt... CO or WY

Hey guys,

I've only hunted deer and elk my entire life and now my daughter is turning 12 and is wanting to finally carry a tag. I'm a noob when it comes to antelope but figured it'd be a good first hunt for her. Although we'll also put in for a Mule Deer tag since CO has the extended youth season, which is awesome.

Any recommendations on a CO GMU for youth that hold some doe Antelope? No PP obviously or would it just be better to go for a non-resident WY doe/fawn tag? From my research it seems CO areas that hold good numbers require PPs.

Thanks guys!

You may draw up to 4 doe tags between the two of you in Wyoming. If you come out in Sept perhaps maybe get in a sage grouse hunt too.
Since doe tags are random draw I would put in for a great area for access and good doe tag numbers and go for it. Fishing in fall also means spawning trout . Might find some doe deer tags for the same general area or close by too.

It is also possible to pick up 2 extra doe tags in the leftovers, for a total of 4 tags.
Good luck and bring that fishing rod when you come out.
