Just wanted to say thanks to Kifaru and Aron in particular for letting me drop in and check out the facility and pick up my DT3 while I was in Colorado last Wednesday.

All the folks there are first rate, and we all know how incredible the gear they produce is. My DT3 performed perfectly over 35 miles and 10,000' of elevation gain and another 10,000' of loss and will be exactly the pack I need for week long hunts and backpacking trips. It may only be 4000 ci, but with my minimalist style, it was more than enough room.

Thanks again to Aron for taking the time to make sure the pack was fitting properly too. It was great to meet you in person and talk about hunting while we could.

It was great meeting you as well!

Keep in contact with me and we'll have to get a scouting trip planned for 2013....

Congrat's on a great pack. Aron is a geat guy and a huge asset to Kifaru. He is the reason for the pack you and many others own or will own soon.

Phil, for how long of a trip? For the above trip of 4 days 35 miles, it was just under 27 lbs. Had a trip to Wyoming at the end of August that was 5 days 44 miles and it was just under 32 lbs.

Eagle, thanks for the info. You are packing close to the same weights that I am with my KU 3700. What a great pack. I am out any where from 3 to 8 days. phil

Guys I would love to see your pack lists. I can't get my hunting rig and items below about 52lbs. I keep going over it but I can't see anything else to cut. I don't want to jack this thread, but maybe you two could help some of us out with this info on another thread.

Thanks,
HFlier

Easy fellas, these were scouting trips for me. With my hunting gear, I'd be in the mid 40's including weapon, food and water.

I was at 29 lbs for a 2.5 day trip before water and rifle. That was with no water filter and 1.75 lbs of food per day.

This year my pack weight for elk was 45.5 pounds. That included ALL of my gear, my bow and my food and water.
I had food for seven days.
