Kifaru duplex belt to omni modification?

I have an extra Kifaru duplex belt and just bought and X-ray on sale. I’d like to have the option of using the spare duplex belt for some day hikes, shed hunting, etc. Has anybody modded the duplex to fit an Omni belt system? Looks like there’s a pack a Velcro? Would it be as easy as sewing a patch of Velcro on a duplex to make it fit an Omni system?

That would keep it in place UCS. Depending on the pack you may have some extra lower shoulder strap webbing or not enough stabilizer straps.
