I had my late season stolen last week and it has me researching packs. I loved my late season but often wondered on a hunt if killed a bull or buck how I wold be able to haul a quarter or two along with my gear. I packed out a elk quarter once with it but that was without gear and had to cut the roast out to get it to fit inside. Loved the pack but has me looking at a daypack that can haul meat between frame and bag because on late season hunts tend to carry more layers. already have a timberline for bacpacking in but wondering if I should go with say a 4500 cu in that removes from frame and use it for everything including 5 day trips and pack additional between frame and bag like say a MR Metcalf. Any suggestions or just try and find another later season and stick with current set ups?
