I usually have my son tagging along with me which means I'm carrying some extra gear whenever he's along. Had been wondering if I could run a kifaru lid on my slumberjack bounty 2.0 and figured the only way to find out was to try...figured I would post this up so other people know it's a pretty simple task.
This is the bottom of the bounty 2.0, underneath the meat shelf.
Feed the looped end of a kifaru lid strap through the attachment point on the outside (opposite the frame) of the bag.
Attach one side of a K clip to the looped end.
Attach the K clip back onto the lid strap.
Thread the other end of the lid strap through the ladder lock of a male 1" ITW buckle. This will go into the female buckle on the bottom of the longhunter lid. I assume the guide lids etc would work the exact same but hopefully someone else can confirm that.
The male buckles on the top of the lid go into the female buckles at the top of the frame that would be used for the meat shelf.
This not only gave me an extra 1000ci of space but it also helps to compress the pack from a different angle and prevent the load from shifting around.
Hopefully I can post a photo of a bear cape under it this spring.
