Last year I used the Molle frame with a Kuiu Ultra 3000 bag. I upgraded to a Duplex frame this year and thinking about giving it to my nephew for his 14th birthday.

I picked up the Longhunter bag last year as part of a package deal and I will never use a bag that big. I decided to modify the bag and see if I can make it work on the Molle frame. I started by cutting out the internal bag extension and cutting about 7" off the top of the bag. I will double this over and reinsert the draw string.

I left some material on top so I will have a simple lid on the bag. I do have a matching lid for the bag I may use too. The work is currently unfinished. I plan on adding a couple of buckles to attach to the vertical front straps on the bag.

I'm mocking up a pocket system to slide over the frame. I'm leaving the duplex attachment in back and it should remain functional too. I'm planning on sewing his to the top of the bag. There are two 2" webbing pieces that I plan to sew to the piece of cordura and around to the side of the bag. The load lifter will still attach to the frame around this frame pocket.

I will lose the existing bag handle if I make this mod, but I can make another.
I'm open to suggestions before I jump down this path.

I'm also contemplating a vertical zipper down the front of the bag to improve access.

I'm sure you will figure it out. I recently modified an old medium ALICE to fit a Gen 4 frame. I attached it with adjustable straps so I could snug it up good and tight to the frame when using as a backpack. Then I could let it out to be able to slide an elk quarter between the pack and frame. The whole setup runs from about 2900 cubic inches up close to 4000+

First steps of bag mods complete.

Bag now is approximately 9" shorter. It also has a simple integral lid. The top has a draw string similar to the original bag.
