I like the looks of that. What do you do with the spotting scope pocket when you start out with a load od meat?

I keep my spotter in one of the wings of the nomad so the spotting scope pocket on the back just has the grab-it and some extra layers or my puffy in it so they can just get crammed into a wing or the lid

This thread had me thinking of using a Nomad 2 for day hunts instead of my AMR. However, after I get it the way I want it set up, I haven’t gained anything. Actually, will just be out more money.

Seeing as this came up again Ill show how im running mine currently with a large compression pocket between the wings. I tried this setup with a sherman but the extra volume of the large comp pocket is exactly what it needed.

Thought I would just post some pictures of my daypack setup for this season as it currently sits. Its a nomad 2, an old spotting scope pocket on the back, xpac belt pouch below the bag, and an xpac guide lid to top it off.

easilyamused, how do you attach that XPac belt pouch below the Nomad wings?

I just used the common loops at the bottom of the bag (a bit narrower than the belt pouch but it works just the same) and some cheap amazon g-hooks to the tab loops on the frame.

Does anybody know if the nomad could securely attach to the eberlestock f1 mainframe?
It’s been a little bit since this question but the Normad will slip over and strap onto a F1 mainframe with no problem I am running that set up instead of the Eberlestock bat wing pouches and I like it pretty well.

I like the concept of the nomad, I like the versatility, but what happens when you have a dry bag or big pockets on the inside and need to haul a big load of meat?

I almost bought one the other night, but in my mind, for practical purpose, I would probably be limited to the storage in the wings, and maybe a lid.

I like the meat hauling ability of the nomad with a grab it, but additional storage seems like it would make hauling big loads of meat more difficult... am I missing something?

I was looking for a day bag for my frame, and ended up just getting the Stryker xl, but the nomad 2 was still tempting, but I just went for the sure thing in my mind

There’s always a trade off. I wish kifaru had made the nomad where the pockets were attached with webbing giving a foot or so of adjustment so that the pockets could be on the front with a load attached in the center instead of being forced out to the side. I love the looks of the Stryker but the problem for me is l like to strap my rifle inside the pack and the solid bottom of the Stryker will not allow the rifle to be inside.

I run my 2 with a Sherman pouch. I thought I would need a native, but so far have not had the need. I have yet to see a better way to pack a heavier long range hunting rifle

Yeah, I never strap my rifle to my pack, I pack mine in a gun bearer... the nomad is a nice setup for guys that pack their rifle on their pack.

there is a lot I like about the nomad, and was going to go that direction, I just decided last minute the Stryker xl would probably be more practical for me

I like to take an eberlestock gun scabbard and cut it in half and strap it between the wings. Then I put my tripod in the gun scabbard with spotting scope attached. I did this with the Nomad 1 and now I do it with the Nomad 2.

I do this with a full pack for camping and for day hunt mode. If I need my scope quickly, I put my pack on the ground and pull the scope and tripod out in one motion. I've got my scope set up and I'm spotting while everybody else is playing with pockets and straps. Then it goes back in pretty easily. Fatrascal.
