My wife is pretty petite, 5’5” probably 130 lbs even though she would never tell me actual weight.

I am debating these packs:

22” frame with 22 mag or a woodsman

Or a 14’r or shape charge internal frame pack

The reality is she won’t ever pack 100lbs of meat, but I think she’s strong enough to carry 50 pounds or so. More late season rifle day hunting with me, but we will backpack usually once a summer. I don’t want to sell her short getting her a 14’r if the frame pack would be better on her.

What have you guys outfitted your ladies with?

My wife loves her 22mag on the 22” frame. 3000 ci is plenty of room for her gear. 5’4” 120ish.

50 pounds in a 14r ....you can do it but it's not ideal. 35-40 comfortable.

I packed a mule deer out with a 14r it wasnt fun but i lived

Loveland, CO. was AZ.
I’m thinking a 22” frame with a Woodsman bag for my spouse. I run a Woodsman bag on my 26” and am very satisfied with performance for my needs. Best.

Thanks everyone...22” frame and a smaller bag it is. I might have to take her Kifaru and have her look at the woodsman vs the 22mag.

I agree with the weight on the 22mag, that’s crazy at 3lb. Must be the added webbing and pockets and such inside.

Can anyone enlighten me on why Kifaru only makes the 22” in the tactical frame? I was planning on getting her the new ultralight frame, but it looks like you can only get that in 24 or 26”

I would guess because there are not a lot of people buying 22" frames.

My wife has a 24" bikini w/ a woodsman that's worked fine for her. I think from here out though she'll just use a 26" frame, that way for the small weight penalty I can use "her" pack also.
