I know the Sherman is a popular add-on to the shape charge, anyone running a couple belt pouches on the back instead?

I have a medium belt pouch on top and an older style size small side pouch on the bottom. The medium barely fits on the pals matrix width wise, and the narrower bottom matrix would be tough for anything other than this small side pocket. On a side note- my MSR 1L windburner fits in that small side pocket like it grew there!

I can see why the Sherman is a natural fit for these packs- they have an odd shape. Maybe one of their new vertical zip pockets rumored to be coming out soon might be another option?

Crappy picture- but might give you an idea?

One of the day pack options I'm looking at is Shape Charge with pockets. Only problem is the Kifaru pockets require 5 open spaces in the molle webbing to fit. The Shape Charge really only has 4 open spaces for the length of the molle webbing top to bottom. So the pockets would not be held tight. At least from the mockups I've done on my 44Mag.

There dont seem to be alot of pockets on the market from other suppliers that are 4 wide. Most seem to be 3 or 5 wide.

Yes. I think that they look like two different sizes in photo because the top one is empty and the bottom one is stuffed with rain gear.

The HPG pockets are awesome with the little bit of organization in them. I also find the size to be a good complement to the Kifaru pockets, which are all longer.

What rain gear are you running in them? Full top/bottom?

The cool thing with the Shape Charge + Sherman combo is that the webbing on the outside of the Shape Charge lines up exactly with the webbing tabs on the Sherman so you can run some thin shock cord/550 cord through it to semi-permanently attach it to the front of the pack. I did this with the one I had and it worked great for stuffing small items behind.

I rotate the SC (as a work bag) with just the Sherman, the Sherman with one or two belt pouches on the outside, belt pouches, no Sherman, all of this crap with a claymore 2 as a lid, and a medium pouch on the internal webbing. Currently, the configuration is Sherman, one external BP, and two internal chamber pockets, but I need a lot of org space for work. The only issue I've run into is that running a second BP external (lower molle) doesn't fit right, and causes issues when the pouch is packed.

Would you have a picture of the claymore 2 as a lid you could share by chance?
thanks!

Here's the rig with the Sherman Pocket and Claymore 2. Generally speaking I keep SRB's on both ends so I can unclip it from the top as well without unclipping the Sherman or messing with the other buckles, this also lets me get into the main bag directly. the bottom straps are held in place by the upper buckles of the shape charge so can flip down both the Claymore and Sherman without things falling apart. This also lets me relatively easily banana peel the entire rig.

Awesome thanks! That looks like it almost doubled carry capacity! I gotta hunt one of these down in ranger green.

Awesome! I'm on the hunt for a pocket that stows an MSR Windburner Duo 1.8L. I'm guessing that older style pocket you show with your 1.0L Windburner, in size Medium would fit the bill perfectly. Any ideas?
Thx!
