Just wanted to post some photos of packs and pockets I recently picked up to replace the old Kifaru skinny minis and back pouches. After years of scouring forums and coming up empty, I decided to go with a mix of custom and cottage gear.

The first is the Cody Pack by Mountain Ridge Gear. Mountain Ridge Gear used to make the Kifaru duffles. Really high quality gear and very responsive customer service.

Essentially, the Cody pack is half-way between an E&E and a back pouch. It straps on to almost any webbing system, and it can stand alone as a day pack. I’m using it on my E&E to hold insulation for day hunts.

Here’s a link to the description: Convertible Pannier Backpack & Day Pack | The Cody Pack – Mountain Ridge Gear

Next up are two Pods8 originals, everyone’s favorite custom gear designer. Pods8 does excellent work at very reasonable prices.

First is a replica of the skinny mini. Second is a long skinny pocket with a flap closure. Both are essentially the same size. The photos show them either empty or holding a Nalgene bottle, sometimes attached to, sometimes apart from the E&E.

A lot of people on this forum seem to be looking for skinny minis and older style pockets which are increasingly hard to find. Posting just give some ideas about alternatives.

All told, the Cody pack and two pockets cost just under $90.
