Anyone happen to know about what a 24” Kimber barrel weighs? Specially One from a Montana in 280? I would think they are all similar though.

While you're on the subject, do you have a weight on an 84M action w bolt?

My Mtn Ascent 84M barreled action w/bolt and trigger comes in at 50.5 oz, or 3lb 2.5 oz. So if I took off 2 lb 2 oz for the barrel and 2 oz for the trigger that would leave only 15 oz for the action w/ bolt.

Can you measure the diameter of the barrel at the action? Or if you know what is the max diameter barrel I should look for to rebarrel a 84L?
You giving up on finding a load for it already?

Your barrel shank will start out at 1.050". Your builder will thread a tenon/chamber barrel. If you get a Lilja they offer a 100 percent factory contour for a Kimber 84L. No extra fee. If you already have a barrel it must be machined down to that 1.050" diameter for the shank.

I have an almost new Montana 84L 280ai take off Ill get a weight for you tonight and post.
I'm hoping to resurrect this old thread - what are the odds a Kimber 84m factory take off barrel would twist onto a new receiver and headspace correctly? Would it likely be plug and play like Tikkas and their factory take offs?
