For you experienced users. What is your solution when staking out your tent in Rocky Ground. When guying out my wall tent I just keep moving the stake till I miss hitting rocks. Do you add extensions? Skip a few staking points?

In rocky ground…. Most areas in AK that I frequent…..I tend to use alders and larger Willows for tent guy lines in those spots I can’t drive stakes. Don’t skimp on tie downs out there, that wind can be pretty amazing and alder/willow will flex a bit. …. But I'm not using a wall tent so…..

Buy these and hammer away.
I'm always by my truck with using the kodiak, so I have a sledge handy for driving them in.

I saw those yesterday at a surplus store. I currently use 10" spikes but sometimes there's no getting through a large rock.

Normally after hitting a rock I'll drive two in opposite directions and stack something heavy on it.
