I’ve got an opportunity to pick up a Kowa used TSN-622 spotter for a song, but won’t be able to look through it before. I’ve been looking at/lusting over the Kowa line for a while now (especially the 553), but with a new baby I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull it off before sheep season opens.

My question is how the 662 will compare to something like the 553 prominair (apples to oranges I know...) or the Vortex Razor HD, which I’ve used before.

Many thanks from a great full Canuck

We got in a bunch of the Kowa TSN-662's as demos from Kowa that we've been selling for $749.99 with a new Kowa TE-9Z 20-60x Zoom. It is a great scope, but do not confuse it with the TSN-554 which has their Pure Florite Optic which is a high transmission optic. It is a great scope and if you're getting it for "a song" you'll love it as it is better than most $1000.00 - $1300.00 scopes out there

Doug, thank you so much for the reply! As a business owner it would have been easy to pass this over because it has nothing to do with a sale - yet you freely share what you know!

This says a lot about you and cameraland - hopefully one day before too long I can give some business and maybe get to NY and meet you guys in person

What is the difference between the 662 and the newer 663/664 scopes? Is the glass better in the new versions?

The difference is only the color of the outer tube, the optics are the same. That's what makes this the awesome deal that it is :)

I bought a demo unit from Doug a while back, very happy with it for what I paid. If I used a spotter a lot I’d probably spend a bit more to step up to the next tier but it’s served me well. This sow and cubs were at 1500 yards or so and the spotter was at 60x if I recall correctly. Taken with a iPhone SE so not the best camera.5655D91F-8798-413A-B43D-7AA26B075520.png
